Church Block Cabernet Shiraz Merlot 2021 by Wirra Wirra: A Wine with a Rich Heritage and Balanced Flavors
If you're a wine enthusiast with a preference for family-owned wineries, Wirra Wirra's Church Block Cabernet Shiraz Merlot 2021 is a must-try. This wine has a rich heritage that dates back to 1972 when the late Greg Trott produced it under the Wirra Wirra label. The name "Church Block" was inspired by one of the original vineyards that run next to the small Bethany church, established in 1854, across the road from Wirra Wirra's century-old ironstone cellars.
This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot grown in McLaren Vale, and it has become a favorite not only in Australia but also in New Zealand. The succulent core of ripe cassis and black fruits fills the mouth and is balanced with subtle spicy oak characters and velvety tannins. The wine has a wonderful balance of intense rich fruit, fine tannins, and refreshing acid structure. You can drink it upon release and up to 8+ years from vintage.
Wirra Wirra is a family-owned winery that has been producing high-quality wines for over four decades. The winery's traditional winemaking process focuses on sustainability and quality, ensuring that each bottle of wine is crafted with care and attention to detail. The result is a wine that not only tastes great but also reflects the winery's commitment to the environment and the community.
